You can start at various points along the road, as the GR 61 crosses the road a couple of times.
At this starting point there is some roadside parking.
The trail is rocky and goes up and down, sometimes a bit steeply until you reach Col de Briontet.
All the way following the well marked GR61.
At the Col de Briontet, everything is marked, except Mont Brion.
Take the trail left that goes uphill and after a couple of meters you see a sign Mont Brion, pointing to to the left and uphill.
This is a bit of a rocky climb uphill.
The trail is well marked in orange. At the top you have a nice view, there is a fire watch-out building on top of the flat mount.
There is a wide forest road on the right, take it downhill.
As the forest road turns sharply to the right, go straight ahead at a marked trail St-Jean du Gard GR61.
The trail leads downhill on a rocky sometimes steep descend.
