This is a very beautiful walk, especially for those who feel that the complete circuit of Le Sentier des Terres Rouges, 15 kilometres, is too long.

We started this smaller circuit from a big carpark in Serres and from the beginning this walk is enchanting. At first you walk along the river Le Rialsesse which you will cross and leave after more or less one kilometre and start gently to go up through a wooded area. This soon becomes a beautiful narrow soft track that winds its way through the wood until you arrive at the first imposing strech of Les Terres Rouges. From then on it is more up and down on the someitimes steep and slippery narrow track. No wonder that one is advised not to do this walk after a period of torrential rain.

When the track veers towards the road again, the D613, the track changes into normal soil again and after passing a stepping stone bridge that crosses the river Le Rialsesse again you will soon reach the D613 that you will have to follow for more or less 500 metres before you turn right near Les Pontils and see the next stretch of Les Terres Rouges ahead of you.. From now on the track remains broad and takes you from 300 to 420 metres. This iwil become by far the most interesting and impressive part of the walk. Sometimes it seems as if you are near a mini Grand Canyon or the prairie.

After you reach the highest point of this walk you descend to the hamlet of Peyrolles where you will find a shaded picknick area with tables and even a water tap with drinking water.

From Peyrolles we took a VTT track to Serres (signposted) and followed this until we reached the D14 from Serres to Peyrolles. Then we took a dirt road that took us to the Sentier des Terres Rouges again which we followed through beautiful vineyards having extensive views all the time towards the south, especially the mountains that dominate Rennes Les Bains and the ruins of Chateau de Blanchefort.

Many thanks for your track zhich was really very beautiful.
I made it yesterday. Now it is very well signposted, also the way back from Peyrolles to Serres which remains on the left side of the road and passes through a very nice pine forest.
