If you want to climb Ben Nevis then this is a much nicer way to do it than going all the way up the tourist trail. It is longer, but on the walk up the beautiful valley you'll find hardly a soul before you join the tourist trail half way up the mountain. The walk through the forest from the Ben Nevis North Face car park is quite steep, but becomes gentler once you're through the trees. You can cut the corner a bit at the top, but we went up to the CIC hut to find out what CIC stood for.
I marked the trail as difficult just because of its length and the amount climbed, but really there are no difficult or vertiginous sections.
