Walk completed in winter conditions, so the route may not follow the actual paths available in summer conditions.

Parked on the roadside to rise on a zig zag track to the gated fence. At this point I discovered my mobile was missing so returned to the car to find it - no luck, so returned to continue with the route and to realise I had now left my gloves in the car!

We started to climb on the ever steeping grass slopes to head for the stone wall (dyke) high on its shoulder to pickup the very icy path. Wasn’t long before crampons were needed as the path was treacherous. We continued to rise steeply through crags high above the corrie below before we tackled the last section across hard snow (with a hard crusty top) all the way to the summit trig point.

We headed north to descend through the crags to reach easier ground leading down to the bealach and the start of the second climb up Stob Binnein’s north face to the second summit of the day. We continued to the bealach and then descended west towards the Benmore Burn to pickup the track leading back to the car.
