Descripció de l'itinerari
I wanted to do this trail for the last two years and today I had the chance. Myself and two other hikers maintaining the corona precautions and social distancing did this trail.
The trail started from the parking lot of the Lady of Assumption church of the Maraat El Dahr village (under construction) and not from the cross.
The spring season made this trail one of the most scenic ones. We started the trail going through fields of wild green pasture and passed by many marked places along the trail until we got to the cliff overlooking the Bisri plains and we were awestruck by the views. along the trail we passed by: Al Dawawir, Bir Zaidan, Meshti peak, The Holy Trinity hermitage, Jal El Siyar, Areeshi passage, Shwar passage, Jal El Falha, Zarde passage, Eagle mortar, Dshr El Kawaber, Khallet El Ghamri, Al Bat, Khwan's cliff, Jal Bou Kharroub, and Al Hazzeh.
This was an easy hike that could be walked by families.
P.S. We had a feast eating wild asparagus.

Bisri Plain View
This is probably the last time I will be able to see this view; there is a water dam being planned that will submerge this area under water.

The Trinity Hermitage
A small church with many solitary cells for the priests. The hermitage is overlooking the Bisri plains with awesome views.

Some parts are tricky but generally awesome
So kids 10 years old will be ok to do this trail with finicky moms 😄. Thinking of doing it with a nice point to do a small picnic? The photos looks amazing this time of the year? Anything we need to be careful about? Thank you for sharing.
0Well, I think 10 year-olds (no finicky moms) will be OK assuming they hiked before.
The views this time of the year (was there yesterday) is awesome and relaxing; especially the snow topped Barouk and the different shades of green of Bisri valley and plain.
There is a restaurant midway of the trail next to the shrine (cars can get there easily) where you could start the trail from that point and then end up at the church where you need a driver to take you back to the restaurant to collect your cars.
The restaurant owner is called Robert (03 461 288 or 03 444 309). He might open the place for you if you are a medium-size group for saj manaaeesh (tastes great).
Let me now if you need help or have other questions.
Happy hiking.
By the way, any relation to Ziad Bayyoud from Marjeyoun?
Hi Zahi. What a small world. Ziad is my cousin 😀. Zahi do you mind sending me a screenshot of the trail and pin point the restaurant ... I assume we will start same from the church I guess till the restaurant ... probably doing the full loop you have might be too much on the group. Here is my cell 70992180. I appreciate your help indeed. Hope we will meet one day. Have a great day.
Ah you are saying start from the restaurant and go back to the church .... got it! Just if you can pin point the restaurant on the trail 😄
