This hike would be a moderate without the Firebreak option, aka taking the switchbacks from Clementine Loop Trail to the Overlook. The Firebreak is steep with poles highly recommended. The last 1/3 of the Firebreak trail to Foresthill road isn't well maintained. To skip this portion look for a cutoff trail to your left as you approach the small wooded section that heads down to a creek bed. This will take you back to the end of the switchbacks within .1-miles of the Overlook.
